Postdoctoral position at the Center of Environmental Intelligence

The postdoc position in nanophotonics will be responsible for leading the design of nanophotonic structures for light-exciton interactions, designing experiments, writing proposals, supervising junior research assistants, and writing manuscripts. My group is currently equipped with advanced optical measurements such as LED characterization systems (I-V, EQE, lumen) microphotoluminescence, and microelectroluminescence, Fourier spectroscopy and microscopy and a few fume hoods for wetlab. Other facilities on the way including optical microscope, thinfilm deposition systems integrated in a glovebox, The selected candidate will be affiliated with the division of Advanced Materials and Devices for Sustainability, Center for Environmental Intelligence.


Job title: Postdoctoral researcher

Affiliation: Center of Environmental Intelligence at VinUniversity

Salary: 1800 – 3000$/month based on qualifications and experience.

Duration: Initially 12 months, with the possibility of renewal another year and converting to a long-time position.

Expected starting date: End of 2023 or early 2024. The position opens until filled.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Lead one of the research directions in the group either interface between optoelectronic devices and nanophotonics or interface between AI and nanophotonics for inverse design.
  • Design structures, experiments and propose research questions.
  • Supervise research assistants in scientific works.
  • Write/edit manuscripts, and proposals.

Part-time researcher position at the Center of Environmental Intelligence

The part-time researcher will be responsible for leading the synthesis of nanomaterials, designing experiments, and supervising junior research assistants. The work will involve perovskite materials in extreme conditions and nanoscale quantum emitters, including II-VI colloidal quantum dots. The candidate will collaborate closely with Dr. Quynh Le. The selected candidate will be affiliated with the division of Advanced Materials and Devices for Sustainability, Center for Environmental Intelligence.


Job title: Affiliated researcher

Salary: Internationally competitive, based on qualifications and experience.

Duration: Initially 6 months, with the possibility of renewal for up to one year.

Research Assistant in nanomaterial synthesis

We are looking for a full-time research assistant to synthesize nanoscale quantum emitters including II-VI colloidal quantum dots, perovskites for optoelectronic applications. In this project, we have equipped state-of-the-art facilities including integrated thin-film depositions in a glovebox, LED’s EQE (external quantum efficiency), and home built systems such as microphotoluminescence, and microelectroluminescence, Fourier spectroscopy and microscopy.


Salary: 10-16 million VND/month depending on experience. Candidates with Ph.D in colloidal synthesis can receive much higher rate.

Duration: 12 months (renewable - up to 3 years to assist the applicant in preparing for graduate study).

Expected starting date: End of 2023 or early 2024. Open until filled.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Synthesis quantum materials (II-VI semiconductor, perovskite quantum dots, perovskite materials, MXenes).
  • Fabricate and conduct measurements of QLEDs and PeLEDs.
